Sloping the gutter a little so it will drain.
Effective pitch is ¼ inch drop for every 10 feet of gutter.
Using a chalk line and string level is preferred for achieving straight gutters and correct pitch.

Gutters installed with a simple carpenters level are not straight and can
look like a banana.
